Where is Penn State Fayette located?
We encourage you to visit our beautiful, 100-acre campus and discover how we can help set your future in motion. Our campus is located in Fayette County which is a part of the scenic Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania between Connellsville and Uniontown. Penn State Fayette is about 50 miles from Pittsburgh and 30 miles from Morgantown, West Virginia.
How many students are enrolled at Penn State Fayette?
Our low student-to-faculty ratio allows you to receive personal attention from the experienced, world-class Penn State faculty in a small setting. There are approximately 750 students, with 42% men and 58% women. About 38% of our students come from areas other than our local community, including 11 other states and 4 other countries.
What can I study at Penn State Fayette?
There are three degree options for students who begin their education at Penn State Fayette. You can choose to apply for and enroll in:
- One of our 10 four-year baccalaureate degree programs that can be completed entirely at the Penn State Fayette campus.
- One of our six two-year associate degree programs that can be completed entirely at the Penn State Fayette campus.
- Penn State’s 2+2 Program.
Penn State Fayette serves as a direct pipeline to the largest campus in the Penn State system, University Park, as well as other campuses across the state. Students can begin the first two years of any of Penn State’s 160+ majors at the Fayette campus before completing the final two years at another Penn State campus. This is called the 2+2 Plan and it is the most common path to a Penn State degree.
Penn State Fayette’s 2+2 Plan allows students to experience the college environment in a comfortable, intimate setting at Penn State Fayette before transitioning to a larger Penn State campus.
Where do students live that attend Penn State Fayette?
Penn State Fayette students looking for the complete college experience can choose to reside in privately-owned apartments located near the campus. Students who reside locally to Penn State Fayette can also choose to commute from their homes.
What about financial aid?
Approximately 90% of our students receive some form of financial aid. For those that qualify, the average total financial aid award is typically more than half the cost of tuition.
All first-year applicants are automatically considered for Penn State Fayette campus scholarshipswhen they apply be the Scholarship Priority Deadline of February 1. These campus-based scholarships are merit scholarships based on an applicant’s previous accomplishments.
