More than 140 students took the stage May 7 as Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer Charles Patrick conferred academic degrees on them during the 46th commencement ceremony at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus.

Fayette campus advisory board announces awards

The Advisory Board of Penn State Fayette Inc. has named Robert E. Eberly Jr., president of The Eberly Foundation, and Mark Kempic, president of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Inc. and Columbia Gas of Maryland Inc., as the respective recipients of the 2016 Outstanding Fellow and Outstanding Alumnus awards. The ceremony took place at the board’s annual meeting, held May 12 at the Uniontown Hilton Garden Inn, where both men were presented with medallions.

Scouts gather at Fayette campus in badge-earning effort

Fifteen staff, faculty, and retirees from Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus recently lent their expertise to a group of Boy Scouts on a weekend quest to earn merit badges. This was the sixth quadrennial time the campus has hosted part of a merit badge camporee, the most recent of which took place May 14.

Nearly 70 college and university administrators attended the Student Success Institute June 2 and 3 at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, where they networked, learned about resources, and got tangible ideas about how their institutions can help students to become more successful.

Penn State Fayette inducts high achievers into honor society

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus held a special ceremony April 25 to recognize top students for their academic accomplishments. Every student with a 3.5 or better grade-point average after completing at least 30 credits at the Fayette campus is eligible for a lifetime membership in the Pi Sigma Phi honor society.

Engineering professor leads Earth Day activities at Fayette campus

If you noticed young maple trees, their roots contained in bags, strategically placed around Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, then they came from longtime faculty member David Meredith’s herb garden. If you passed a group of people picking up litter along University Drive recently, then it was Meredith and one of his classes. If you happened to see students planting trees on campus last week, they were brought there by Meredith, their instructor, an associate professor of engineering.
