Fayette campus faculty member publishes text on metals

David Meredith, an associate professor of engineering at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, is the author of "Metals through History," which examines how these natural resources have affected our lives and world. Initially, his book was only available in an electronic format, but its recent publication in print has allowed Meredith to begin using it this semester as the textbook for his STS 150/Out of the Fiery Furnace class.

Fayette campus hosts 'One Billion Rising' event

In a Valentine’s Day demonstration of love, students, staff, faculty, and community members gathered in Swimmer Hall at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, to take part in "One Billion Rising," a global action to end violence against women. Though participants across the world can employ various forms of protest for this event, dancing has been the mode of choice at the Fayette campus, which has hosted it for the past three years in conjunction with Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA.

Fayette campus, local leaders forming a plan to fight addiction

The Outreach and Continuing Education department at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus brought together a group of local educators, business people, government officials, parents, and activists Feb. 2 for a roundtable discussion on opioid abuse. The meeting morphed into a planning session, with eager participants ready to get to work on fixing the problem through education.

Mt. Pleasant native living her dream at Fayette campus

Unopened since 2013, the letters sit gathering dust on Haley Brothers’ desk, waiting to deliver their news of acceptance or rejection from the other colleges where she had applied. She had no desire to read their contents because they arrived after the only acceptance letter that she wanted — the one from Penn State University.

Penn State Fayette again top campus for THON fundraising

Although it is one of Penn State’s smaller campuses, Fayette’s THON team continues to dominate the Commonwealth with passion, enthusiasm and determination. This year, the Fayette campus team raised $93,943 for pediatric cancer care and research, tops among Commonwealth campuses.

Kevin L. Colosimo, a lawyer with expertise in the oil and gas industry and related legal ethical matters, will be the featured speaker March 15 when the CEO Conversations series at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus resumes for the spring semester.

Fayette campus student actors to perform 'Hamlet'

The Lion Players of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will bring William Shakespeare’s "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark" to the stage with matinee and evening performances April 5 to 8. Written around 1599, the plot, which is filled with treachery, revenge, spies and madness, revolves around a less-than-grieving widow’s “situation” that leads to an untimely and rash marriage; her pouting, insolent son; and a stalking, revenge-seeking ghost.
