The CEO Conversations series at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will feature on Nov. 16 Alexander “Nick” Nichols, the recently retired chief operating officer of the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC). EMSDC’s mission is to develop business opportunities for minority-owned businesses by certifying and linking them to corporations and public agencies.
The fall 2016 CEO Conversations series at Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus, sponsored by Ford Business Machines, opened Oct. 19 with an insightful speech by a distinguished alumnus, Mark Kempic, who spoke about the University’s impact on his career and life.
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus raised approximately $197,000 for scholarships at the inaugural Benefit Fayette, held Saturday, Oct. 15. The evening’s highlight was the announcement of a $100,000 gift from Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and 84 Lumber founder Joe Hardy in honor of his wife, Jodi, a 1998 nursing graduate of the Fayette campus.
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will host two Nursing Exploration Days this semester. These events, which are designed for high school students interested in learning more about this in-demand health care career, will take place at the Bio-Medical Building Oct. 28 and Nov. 18 between 9:00 a.m. and noon.
The CEO Conversations series returns Oct. 19 to Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus with guest speaker Mark Kempic, president of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc. and Columbia Gas of Maryland, Inc., both subsidiaries of NiSource Inc., a Fortune 500 energy holding company based in Merrillville, Ind.
Carolyn Castor Garver, a 1986 graduate of Penn State’s bachelor of science degree program in nursing, received her employer's annual Patient Safety Award twice in the past five years. In September, the College of Nursing Alumni Society recognized her as someone who exemplifies the spirit of nursing and a commitment to the college's ideals and philosophy.
The University is hosting a Town Hall from 3-5 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Pavilion Theatre at University Park. The meeting will be livestreamed for faculty and staff members at all Penn State campuses to view.
Penn State’s annual celebration of Constitution Day will take place on Friday, Sept. 16 at University Park, with events happening throughout the month of September across Penn State campuses.
