Outreach and Continuing Education

Penn State Fayette’s Outreach and Continuing Education unit serves individuals, organizations and businesses in Fayette, Greene, Washington, Westmoreland and Somerset Counties by providing professional level education and training opportunities to meet individual and corporate needs.

Our programs are offered through direct delivery, blended instruction, and on-line programming at convenient locations and times that accommodate the needs of our varied spectrum of learners.  The Outreach and Continuing Education staff strives to provide outstanding programming for residents of our service area that meet the academic, vocational, and social needs of youth through lifetime learners.

In addition, Outreach and Continuing Education professionals work closely with local individuals, businesses, and organizations to provide outstanding campus facilities and meeting planning services that enrich the cultural, recreational and professional development of our communities.

Penn State Fayette’s Outreach and Continuing Education unit offers a variety of contemporary short-term programming for companies and organizations to help them develop their employees knowledge and to improve their work skills for career advancement.

Penn State Fayette’s Center for Community and Public Safety provides numerous academic and continuing education programs and conferences for First responders, Healthcare workers, Law Enforcement professionals, Governmental employees, Industrial and Corporate employees, and the Military.  In addition, this unit develops statewide curriculum materials and training for governmental agencies.

Individual and Professional Development Programs

A variety of non-credit classes are offered every semester to the public to help community members improve their knowledge in specific areas of interest, to meet professional and mandatory Continuing Education requirements, or just for fun and personal enrichment. Courses focus on business, information technology, professional certifications, computer skills, art, physical activities, languages, energy, law enforcement and safety

Our Outreach and Continuing Education unit offers a variety of educational enrichment programs and activities for children in grades 1 through 12.  Students can enjoy new educational experiences by participating in the many interactive hands-on learning classes offered.  The youth programs are customized by age level and include a balanced educational curriculum to ensure a well-rounded learning experience. 

Corporate Training Center

Penn State Fayette’s Outreach and Continuing Education staff coordinates and manages a wide variety of available campus facilities to meet the educational, cultural, professional, and personal needs of the community. Conference rooms, classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, and large open spaces that include instructional services, teleconferencing, and meeting planning support are available for public use under University policies and regulations.
