Army veteran Daniel Sparks was living the good life during the nation’s oil and gas boom but found himself laid off last November, with no prospects for work. The father of three felt that his leadership experience from the military would appeal to some employers, but he knew that his job prospects were diminished without a college degree. Less than a year later, Sparks has blossomed into a full-fledged college student who is active at Penn State's Fayette campus, in particular with the Student Veterans Association.
At a ceremony held July 16 at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, 130 high-achieving southwestern Pennsylvania high school students joined the Penn State Fayette and United Bank 4.0 Club.

If you passed a group of people picking up litter along University Drive recently, then it was Meredith and one of his classes. If you happened to see students planting trees on campus last week, they were brought there by Meredith, their instructor, an associate professor of engineering.
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus held a special ceremony April 25 to recognize top students for their academic accomplishments. Every student with a 3.5 or better grade-point average after completing at least 30 credits at the Fayette campus is eligible for a lifetime membership in the Pi Sigma Phi honor society.
Administrators from Penn State and Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) signed an articulation agreement June 16 to facilitate the transfer of WCCC credits into baccalaureate degree programs at 14 University campuses.

This was the sixth quadrennial time the campus has hosted part of a merit badge camporee, the most recent of which took place May 14.
The Advisory Board of Penn State Fayette Inc. has named Robert E. Eberly Jr., president of The Eberly Foundation, and Mark Kempic, president of Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Inc. and Columbia Gas of Maryland Inc., as the respective recipients of the 2016 Outstanding Fellow and Outstanding Alumnus awards. The ceremony took place at the board’s annual meeting, held May 12 at the Uniontown Hilton Garden Inn, where both men were presented with medallions.
More than 140 students took the stage May 7 as Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer Charles Patrick conferred academic degrees on them during the 46th commencement ceremony at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus.
