Welcome to Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, serving southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond! At Penn State Fayette, students get the benefits of a small, nurturing, intimate campus, alongside a phenomenal Penn State education, with its international reputation for excellence. It truly is the best of both worlds. Penn State Fayette is Fayette County’s only four-year, post-secondary, educational institution, but it also serves as a direct pipeline to Penn State’s twenty other campuses across the state, including University Park. Students can earn one of several four-year baccalaureate or two-year associate degrees, or they can begin the first two years of any of Penn State’s more than 275 degrees.
Faculty members at Fayette campus put students first, providing the highest quality instruction. Many of our faculty are accomplished scholars in their respective fields, and they apply that scholarship in their classes to promote student success. Many of our students are invited to participate in research with our renowned faculty; a number of Fayette students have been awarded Erickson Discovery Grants, and some have travelled with faculty to present their research at academic conferences. Many of our students get hands-on experience in our labs and through work-study opportunities or internships with local businesses.
At Fayette campus, student success is our primary focus. Our beautifully renovated Student Success Center offers free tutoring for all students; you will often find groups of students gathered around the white boards working out complex problems in small groups. We offer engagement opportunities like new student orientation, first-year seminar, and SAGE (Student Athletes Graduate and Excel), all designed to improve student outcomes. Our Student Affairs team organizes trips, clubs, and events that enhance the student experience. We are particularly proud of our THON team.
Another resource for both student success and the community is our library. Everyone is encouraged to make use of this state-of-the art facility, with Internet access and links to the Big Ten library system with literally millions of books, periodicals, magazines, and articles at one’s fingertips. The library also houses the Coal and Coke Heritage Center, a museum and archive open to students and the public alike.
Not only is the traditional college experience available to our students, Penn State Fayette also offers a unique, engaging educational experience for students of all ages. Degree and non-credit classes are available to assist adults looking to advance their careers. Lifelong learning programs provide a myriad of learning opportunities for adults as well as young people.
The beautiful campus of nearly 100 acres has a lively cultural calendar, featuring programs and events such as the theater and musical programs, knowledgeable guest speakers, and many varied athletic events that offer opportunities for the campus and the local community to come together.
On behalf of Penn State Fayette, I invite you to visit our beautiful campus in person. Come and learn about Penn State’s many degree programs, explore the continuing education opportunities we offer, or enjoy a cultural event. I hope to see you soon!
