Local holiday traditions on exhibit at Fayette campus

The Coal and Coke Heritage Center at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will feature “Christmas in the Coal Patch” Dec. 2 through Jan. 9 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. This mini-exhibition shows how Christmas was celebrated by the Slovakian, Polish, Carpatho-Rusyn, and Italian immigrant families living in the mining company towns of southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Center invites the public to an open house with light refreshments Dec. 2 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend the open house or the exhibition. For more information, call 724-430-4160 Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
