Fayette campus announces March admissions events

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — There will be a variety of opportunities for prospective students to visit Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus this month.

Admitted Student Future and Family Week, from March 13 to 17, is designed for students who already have been accepted to Penn State. Attendees will be able to review their financial aid awards, learn about future classes, and tour the campus with a current student. The hours for March 13, 15, and 17 are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with extended hours March 14 and 16 (8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.). Also, campus tours will be available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

One of the most popular admissions events for students considering Penn State is the "Student for a Day" series, which allows people to learn firsthand what it is like to be enrolled at the Fayette campus. After hearing a presentation on the variety of majors offered, attendees will then be given the opportunity to sit in on classes taught by faculty members in a variety of academic disciplines. A complimentary lunch in the Community Center café will follow.

There will be three Student for a Day experiences:

  • Engineering and Science, 8:45 a.m. on March 20
  • General/Business, 1:30 p.m. on March 22
  • Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant, 9:15 a.m. on March 24

Transfer Day will provide an opportunity for college students who have earned credits at other institutions to visit campus; this will take place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on March 21. Attendees may bring their transcripts and learn about transferring to Penn State Fayette.

All of the March events will begin in the Eberly Building. To register, call 724-430-4130.
