LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will offer an educational workshop about dementia for health care providers at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, in room 101 of the Biomedical Building on campus.
Penn State Fayette instructor Michelle Criss, PT, DPT, GCS, will lead the interactive presentation, “Implicit Learning and Useful Communication Strategies: Working with Persons Living with Dementia.” Health care professionals will learn how to utilize evidence about patients’ remaining cognitive strengths and abilities in order to maximize the effectiveness of physical therapy.
