Participants learn ways to teach with technology at recent sessions

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — The Teaching and Learning Technology (TLT) team from University Park presented “Engaging and Empowering Students through Technology,” a series of informational sessions, at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, on Jan. 20.

“Participants heard presentations on practical ideas for engaging students in a dynamic learning environment using technology,” said Cheryl Tkacs, instructional designer at Penn State Fayette.

Attendees were introduced to a variety of initiatives and innovative ways to promote active student learning. Topics included Office 365 tools, the creation of digital projects, immersive learning experiences, and data-empowered learning tools, such as Spectrum.

Faculty from Shenango, Greater Allegheny, New Kensington, and Fayette campuses were in attendance.
