LEMONT FURNACE, PA. — Students in the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, were given the opportunity to network with representatives from eleven regional facilities on Oct. 5.

“Networking events introduce our students to the many opportunities available for them to connect with regional healthcare organizations,” said Melissa Miner, associate teaching professor and campus coordinator for nursing. “For example, nursing students in years two and three can be hired as interns and externs during the summer to gain valuable nursing experiences. In addition, year-four nursing students can obtain information on employment opportunities.”

Participating employers included hospitals as well as hospice, dialysis, home care, and senior care facilities, such as:

  • Allegheny Health Network
  • Amedysis Hospice
  • Angels on Call
  • Fresenius Medical Care
  • Mon Health System
  • Penn Highlands Healthcare
  • Senior Life of PA
