LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus announced the third annual “Concert on the Lawn,” set for Aug. 26 at the campus. The concert will feature "Beginnings – The Ultimate Tribute to Chicago," with fireworks scheduled to follow the performance.
Since 2002, Beginnings has entertained audiences across the country at large-scale venues including Walt Disney’s EPCOT Center; Bally’s Atlantic City Resort Casino; The M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada; and more. According to the band’s website, “Beginnings was born out of the love and respect for the music of one of the greatest American rock bands of all time — Chicago … forged together by a group of professional musicians, all veterans of the New York music scene.”
Immediately following the performance, the Fayette campus will provide a second round of entertainment: fireworks by Little Big Shots, of Addison, Pennsylvania. The local company staged what past attendees have called an impressive pyrotechnics show.
The event is free of charge and open to community members, who may begin entering campus at 6 p.m. Alcohol and coolers are prohibited; however, food and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. Concertgoers should bring chairs or blankets to sit on the hillside overlooking the stage.
No tickets or reservations are needed for the Beginnings performance. Should weather be inclement, the concert will take place in the campus Community Center. For more information about the concert or fireworks, call 724-430-4244.
Prior to Beginnings’ show, the Penn State Fayette Alumni Society will host a reunion barbecue for all Penn State alumni and their guests. The cost of $15 per person will include access to a reserved section at the concert. RSVPs are required for the barbecue only. For more information about the barbecue, or to obtain a registration form, alumni should visit fayette.psu.edu/alumni-society-reunion-barbecue or call the Development Office at 724-430-4190.
