LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — The men’s cross-country team at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus finished a strong 2017 season with a Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) championship and three first-team, all-conference selections. The championship was held Oct. 28 at Penn State Mont Alto.

This win marks Fayette's second consecutive PSUAC cross-country title. Devin Pisarski (Connellsville High School), Nyoah Marteny (Frazier High School), and Aaron Mylan (Jefferson Morgan High School) took second, third, and fourth place, respectively, in the championship and earned first-team, all-conference honors. Anna Elko (PA Cyber) came in at sixth overall on the women’s team and was named a first-team, all-conference runner. Austin Bittner (Fort Hill High School), Carmen Cavanaugh (Laurel Highlands High School), Michael Elliot (Bethlehem-Center High School), Amber Glodziak (Laurel Highlands High School), Stephanie Hall (Waynesburg High School), and PJ Savini (Laurel Highlands High School) were selected as second-team, all-conference.

The co-ed cross-country team is led by Head Coach Joe Carei and Assistant Coach Violet Kern.

“The team showed great unity,” said Carei. “Six out of our 11 all-conference runners never ran high school cross-country, so it says a lot about Penn State Fayette athletics.”
