Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)

Provides basic and limited advanced emergency care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual will function as part of a comprehensive EMS response team. Under medical oversight the A-EMT will perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The A-EMT is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.
*Must be 18 years of age or older and a Pennsylvania State Certified Emergency Medical Technician to enroll in this course.

Date: April 24 to September 12, 2026
This is a hybrid program: all course work and exams will be completed online.

Orientation: April 24, 2026 from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.

  • In-person lab sessions every Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. at these locations:
    • Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, 5 Eberly Building
    • Hollidaysburg American Legion Ambulance Service, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648

Application Fee: $350.00
Course fee is $1,350.00
