Penn State Fayette offers summer camps for grades 1–12

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — The Office of Outreach and Continuing Education at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will offer its popular summer youth programming for grades 1 through 12 on campus in June and July.

Lunch is provided for all camps. A discount is offered to families registering in three or more camps; use discount code “MULTI3” when registering online.

GRADES 1–3

  • Superhero Summer Camp ($189): Do you have what it takes to be a superhero? Students will take part in fun experiences focusing on many different subjects, all themed around their favorite superheroes. June 13–17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Storybook Camp ($189): Join us for a week of engaging activities focused around popular fairytales and children’s storybooks. Students will use reading, science, art, and more to have a fun-filled week of living within their favorite stories. June 27–July 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • A Summer in Space ($189): Have you ever wanted to become an astronaut? In this week’s camp, students will learn all about the solar system as well as space exploration. July 11–15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

GRADES 4–6

  • Reasons for the Seasons ($189): Students will be working on various STEM activities and challenges that relate to the seasons of the year. June 13–17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Blast off into Space ($189): Students will be immersed into outer space! They will learn all about our planet Earth as well as the other components in our solar system. June 20–24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Science and Robotics 1 ($189): In this class, students will create games and animations using Scratch. Students will learn coding skills, along with creative thinking. We will also introduce computer programming and robotics using LEGO WeDo construction kits. July 11–15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

GRADES 6–8

  • Penn State Bookstore STEM Camp (FREE): This STEM camp is a three-day introduction of hands-on educational programming that will focus on the practical application of science, technology, engineering and mathematics for middle schoolers. June 28–30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • WE ARE... Entrepreneurs! ($189): Penn State’s version of the “Shark Tank.” Students will explore entrepreneurial activities, design a new product/service and develop a business pitch. July 18–22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

GRADES 9–12

  • Penn State Bookstore STEM Camp (FREE): The STEM camp is a week of hands-on educational programming that will focus on the practical application of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in everyday life for high schoolers. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate on academic exploration with Penn State faculty and industry professionals in project-based activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Offered June 20–24, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and July 18–22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

SPORTS CAMPS FOR GRADES 4–8

Registrants will receive instruction from the Penn State Fayette Athletics coaching staff in state-of-the-art college facilities with special appearances from members of our college sport teams. Camps offer a combination of sport-specific instruction and a youth athletic performance clinic focusing on the foundations of exercise and athleticism for youth of all skill and athletic abilities. All sports campers receive a Penn State Fayette Athletics drawstring bag and t-shirt.

A $20 discount is available for students who register in both a Sports Camp and the Athletic Performance Camp; use code “LIONS22” when registering online.

  • Boys Basketball Camp ($150): June 13–16, 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Boys Baseball Camp ($150): June 13–16, 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Boys and Girls Cross Country Camp ($150): June 13–16, 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Girls Softball Camp ($150): June 20–23, 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Girls Basketball Camp ($150): June 20–23, 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Boys and Girls Soccer Camp ($150): June 20–23, 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Athletic Performance Camp ($70): A youth athletic performance clinic focusing on the foundations of exercise and athleticism for youth of all skill and athletic abilities. Offered June 13–16, 1 to 4 p.m., and June 20–23, 1 to 4 p.m.
