Snapchat featured the International Food Showcase at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, as a Campus Story for April 12, highlighting photos and videos from this student event for millions of the social network’s users. Campus stories are a component of the mobile app’s Live Stories section, which is coveted by marketers for its ability to grab the attention of 10 to 20 million Snapchatters over a 24-hour timeframe.

Air Force veteran finds much more than he expected at Fayette campus

After retiring from a 19-year U.S. Air Force career spent working on the electronics systems of intercontinental ballistic missiles, Wallace Frost Jr. enrolled at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus to become something he had long wanted: a petroleum engineer. Little did the Uniontown native know that enrolling at the Fayette campus would bring him several other things he desired: love, marriage, and fatherhood.

Trumka to speak at Fayette campus commencement

Charles Patrick, chancellor and chief academic officer of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, has announced that AFL-CIO President and Penn State alumnus Richard Trumka will address the audience at this year’s commencement exercises, which are scheduled for May 6. Approximately 113 candidates for graduation are expected to participate in what will be the 47th such ceremony at the Fayette campus, where Trumka began his undergraduate studies.

Fayette campus offering free life-saving course

As part of a nationwide initiative to teach bystanders how to provide immediate care to prevent blood loss and improve survival from traumatic injuries, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will offer the Stop the Bleed course from 6 to 9 p.m. April 26. Participants will learn how to stop bleeding by using dressings, compression, and tourniquets. This course is open to emergency responders, law enforcement officers, school personnel, and the general public.

Ades, Parkinson, Prettyman named 2017 Penn State Teaching Fellows

Sarah Ades, associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in the Eberly College of Science; Matthew Parkinson, associate professor of engineering design and mechanical engineering in the College of Engineering; and Gib Prettyman, associate professor of English at Penn State Fayette; have received the Alumni/Student Award for Excellence in Teaching and have been named 2017 Penn State Teaching Fellows.

Fayette campus to hold event for community

The Community Interaction Association, a student group at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, invites the public to its second annual Community Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 15. This family-oriented and kid-friendly event will feature an Easter-egg hunt, a Chinese auction, a bounce house, face painting, and a basket raffle. Entertainment will be provided by balloon artist Mike the Balloon Guy and DJ Johnny Marco. Hot food from the Stonehouse will be available for purchase. Also, local businesses and organizations will be on hand to offer resources and provide awareness.
